About
Rating: 3 stars
Located next to UNC Asheville, the Asheville Botanical Gardens offer a peaceful escape filled with native plants and seasonal blooms. Parking is convenient, with accessible spaces close to the entrance. A well-built ramp leads to the gift shop, where visitors can also access an accessible restroom. A concrete pathway circles to the other side of the building, and one observation deck provides an accessible spot to enjoy the gardens’ beauty without navigating rough terrain.
Beyond these areas, most of the trails consist of large gravel and uneven ground, which can be challenging for wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility devices. The paths often have notable inclines and declines, and the layout is more akin to hiking trails than paved walkways. While the gardens offer a serene, natural setting, visitors with mobility concerns will find the most accessible experiences near the entrance and designated accessible features.
